Sunday sermon was an admonishment for those of us who are, shall we say, on the latter laps of our race, to seek how we can be of use even though less, young and vibrant. Even in retirement we can be useful to our Lord.
II Tim. 4:7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
My life is now a mirror
Of the many things I've done
The good the bad the ugly
In the race that I have run
It makes me kind of weary
To see each struggling step
That I took without my Savior
That I tried without his help.
It makes me want to serve Him
With each hour that I have left.
To please him is my goal in life
To see a smile upon his face.
Lord guide my words, my deeds
To conform to your commands
Send someone to my presence
Who needs a helping hand
Bring back those years I've wasted
When my sinful heart did roam
Put purpose in the remaining time
Before you call me home.
