Friday night my wife and I checked off another of our bucket list items. Alan Jackson gave a stellar performance in Verizon Theater, Grand Prairie. My wife struggles with her bad back and cannot handle long walks anymore, so an adventure like this can be quite painful for her. Friday night God arranged for us to meet Amy Simon, the Special Event Manager for AEG. Amy saw to our comfort for the entire evening and made what could have been overwhelming for Carolyn, something that she was able to enjoy fully. I believe we must congratulate our young people who are carrying on the tradition of Texas hospitality and encourage them to keep on keeping on, so I wrote this for Amy.
For Amy,
I met a new friend Friday night, native Texan name of Amy,
with a smile as big as Texas, and just as pretty as a daisy
What brought our lives together, was our dire need for assistance,
Amy came right to our rescue, cause we had walked for quite a distance
She adopted two old people like she'd known us all her life,
and made a stressful situation into a joy for myself and my wife
Like a true and faithful Texan she does her job with dedication,
If we could clone her spirit we could probably change this nation
She made us feel that we were most important of all the crowd,
her actions speak of love and caring and it's spoken right out loud.
The future of this great old State is revealed in each new day,
I'm proud that folks like Amy, are keeping up the "Cowboy Way"
