Genesis 2:24, Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.
For sixty long years, we lived life as one, we faced every challenge that came along.
We worked with our hands a family to raise, but never forgot the promises we made.
As God was our witness, we offered our lives. Whatever befell us, we shared it through time
Until your last breath, we stuck to our goal, to honor what He had placed on our souls.
As God had intended we melded as one, now I must live on with half of me gone.
My body still functions, or most of it does, but daily I’m reminded how I needed you so
My days are now filled with good memories, of joy and of love we thought without end.
We don’t live forever, the saying is true, I’m glad I was blessed to spend my days with you.
I will continue to do what I can and continue to function as; just half a man.
Wherever that takes me, your memory goes along, and when the Lord calls me,
I’ll see you at home.
