Shouting Ground
I was just readin bout John of old, tellin bout one who'd come
A man with a plan “The Great "I AM" He would shake us down to our souls.
A carpenter’s son out of Galilee, and Jesus was his name
Before he was done, nothing under the sun would ever be the same
All the Jews were singin the blues, them Romans they were mean
They were lookin for a savior; they were looking for a king
He claimed that He was "King of the Jews," but he didn't fit their bill
He stirred the pot so they formed a plot; he needed to be killed
God's people were in bondage but not by Roman hands
The chains that bound their evil hearts came from Adam's sin.
The only sinless sacrifice must come down from above
So God said, "Son go down there and tell them about my love"
I'd like to say that we today have learned from their mistakes
We still need savin from the same old cravin, we stumble, and we fall
But there He stands with holes in his hands welcoming us all
Saved forever, I'm a whosoever, so listen to His call.
Chorus
Step back brother, I need some room, I think I'm gonna shout,
Jesus saved me from my sin, and that's what it's all about
The story's old, and has been told, since God said, "Let's begin"
When His Holy Spirit stirs me, it feels brand new again.
