I stand and look at all that land as far as I can see,
my Texas pride wells up inside like it all belongs to me.
See, in a way it all is mine cause I'm a Texas boy,
and though my names not on a deed, it's still mine to enjoy.
When I see a sunset leaning low out in the west,
each ray of light, each shadow is a part of Texas' best.
It touches on each acre, on homes and, barns, and trees,
it shines from there to where I am and then it touches me.
And for that single moment I own all that I behold,
I treasure that sweet vision in my heart and in my soul.
It touches on our Lone Star, flying like an eagle on the wing,
my heart like a drum beats in my chest, it makes me want to sing.
God put all that beauty there, it's all part of His ranch,
He wanted us to see it, hear it, feel it, at every glance.
Someone else may own it for the time he's here on this earth,
but rest assured God's family has owned it since its birth.
God has blessed us all with Texas, and placed its love in me,
Texas our Texas, it's wide and wild and free.
