Lookin good on her Harley, when Mom rode off to that party
Me not knowin, when or if, she'd make it home
She wore her leather vest and chaps, and a Texans football cap
Just had a couple a drinks and she was gone
Dad was out pipelinin, little sister was a whinin,
The night was dark and scary on the farm.
Me and that old cat, with an aluminum baseball bat,
Was all there was, protecting us from harm.
It was midnight or thereafter, when I heard an awful clatter,
Momma's Harley, came a roarin into sight.
Crankin through the gears, my heart stopped in fear,
She was goin way too fast for this dark night.
She locked her brakes out on the highway, tryin to make the driveway
she took flight as I saw her leave the road.
Then I heard a drunkin scream, "I'm flyin this machine."
It was the chicken coup that brought her back to earth,
She was slidin feathers flyin, I was runnin I was cryin,
Finally dad's old tractor stopped her journey cold.
She laid there like she was dead, Texans cap still on her head
Chicken feathers in her hair she looked a fright
Have you ever heard the story, of how angels up in glory,
Keep a closer watch on fools and those who drink
Well it's true and I'm not lyin, after motorcycle flyin,
Mom smiled up, and said, "I hope you got the eggs."
Mama was a biker, Dad an old pipeliner
Growin up all on your own can be real hard.
But we grew up lovin Jesus, and I prayed for Him to save us,
The night that Mama crashed her Harley in the yard
