To Truly Know,

I complained of my afflictions among the afflicted,

I sought comfort of those who knew no comfort,

I searched for a glimmer of light from those lurching in darkness.

This man in me would not be still, he would not know

Those who were afflicted offered no healing,

Those in sin, had no comfort for my soul.

There was no light in this world of darkness,

I was proud yet had no prize to show.

The Lord has said, "Be still and know that I am God,"

I heard Him speak yet I was not still, I yet spoke.

I tortured even His words to fit the pride of my tongue,

I tickled ears with my sounds, to reap His glory to myself.

He said, stop the clatter after those who have been made

In the quiet, seek solace only in I, the Maker

Reign in your pride, and seek only My Glory,

It is I the Lord your God who has sought you out,

Quit your talking that I may be heard, "BE STILL, and know that I am God,"

The I AM, with authority to count you righteous.

Under the blood of My Son alone, can I gaze upon you.

To Him I have given Healing and Restoration.

I will walk with you, my hand on your shoulder,

I will sit with you and feed your weary soul with my Words.

I have chosen you, among all my possessions,

To make you over, to let you truly Know and be Known.
